Welcome to British Scouting in Oman

As part of British Scouting Overseas (BSO), the 1st and 2nd Oman Scout Groups deliver an active programme of indoor and outdoor activities for young people between the ages of 6-18. We welcome expatriate, English-speaking girls and boys from all faiths and backgrounds. Young people do not have to attend the schools where we meet. Our current meeting places are: American British Academy (ABA), As Seeb International School (ASIS) and British School Muscat (BSM).

  • Beaver Scouts: 6-8 years meeting at BSM and ASIS schools
  • Cub Scouts: 8-10.5 years meeting at ASIS and BSM Schools. The Cubs often have adventures all over Muscat!
  • Scouts: 10.5-14 years meeting at ABA, ASIS and BSM schools. The Scouts often have adventures all over Muscat!
  • Explorer Scouts: 14-18 years. Unfortunately, Explorers is no longer running due to lack of volunteer support. If you can volunteer please register.

The programme for young people within BSO is identical to those in Scout Groups operating
within the United Kingdom. Our adult volunteers hold a formal Role within the British
Scout Association and follow the same adult training programme as United Kingdom-based
