explorers.gifExplorer Scouts

When
     Explorers: Tuesdays 6pm to 8pm
Young Leaders: as per times of the Beaver or Cub section they are assisting
Where: British School Muscat (BSM) and other places around Muscat
Who: Male and Female 14-18 Years

We need Regular Adult Volunteers to supervise and assist with the running and coordination of the Youth Lead sessions.

If you're 13.5-18 you can become an Explorer Scout. You have the option of either or both of the following:

  1. Become a regular Explorer Scout and take part in an even wider spectrum of activities. There is also a range of ambitious badges and awards, through which Explorers can demonstrate their proficiencies and expand their interests. Explorers also have the opportunity of working towards the International Award or the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (Bronze, Silver and Gold).

  2. Become a Young Leader (YL), assisting with Scouting in the Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop sharing some of the skills you've learnt during your training sessions. It's great fun, looks good on your CV and full training is provided. Becoming a YL also counts towards the community aspect of the International Award or the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. To become a Young Leader you must be at least 14. If you are not an Explorer you can only be a Young Leader for for the duration required by the International Award or the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and must cease at the end of that time. All YL's need to complete the Young Leader Training within 3 months of registration which is via a formal contract.
