Volunteering with British Scouting in Oman...
We’re really going places, the 1st and 2nd Oman Scout Groups are two of the largest and most successful Scout Groups in British Scouting Overseas and we’d love you to join our adventure as a volunteer!
But what could I do?
The key word here is flexibility. People are busy, we know that, we’re busy too, so Scouting has roles that will fit around you and the time that you can give. Whether that’s an hour a week or a day a year, we’d love to have you along.
One thing you can think about is whether you want to work with young people, either as a leader or occasional helper, or whether you’d prefer a support role such as a treasurer or member of an executive committee. There are volunteer roles for everybody.
Perhaps you have specialist skills you think you could share with us? This could be anything from helping with the Mechanic Badge to building a rope bridge!
How much time will it take?
That’s up to you, did we mention we’re flexible?!
If you can make a regular weekly commitment then great, we have dozens of young people waiting to join our youth sections, but not enough leaders! But if you can only help once a month or can give us a weekend a year, that’s fine, we’ll talk to you about how you can still get something from volunteering with us.
One thing we can guarantee is a great time, our volunteers make lots of friends, gain skills through the support we can offer, and take as much from Scouting as they put in.

Where can I volunteer?
You can volunteer in the sections meeting at the American British Academy (ABA) As Seeb International School (ASIS) or at the British School Muscat (BSM). If you get in touch then we can help you find a role and a location that suits you.
I’m interested, get in touch!
If you’d like to find out more, with no obligation at all, then please contact us and we’ll be in touch soon!
