Volunteering with British Scouting in Oman...

Leadership is not about being the best.....

it is about making everyone else better

Volunteers do not necessarily have the time......

they have the heart

leader We’re really going places, 1st Oman Scout Group is one of the largest and most successful Scout Groups in British Scouting Overseas and we’d love you to join our adventure as a volunteer!

But what could I do?

Anything! The key word here is flexibility. People are busy, we know that, we’re busy too, so the more Regular Volunteers we have the less there is for each to organise, we’d love to have you along.

One thing you can think about is whether you want to work with young people, either as a leader or occasional helper, or whether you’d prefer a support role such as a treasurer or member of an executive committee.

There are volunteer roles for everybody.

Perhaps you have specialist skills you think you could share with us? Perhaps you don't realise you do. This could be anything from helping with the Mechanic Badge to building a rope bridge!

How much time will it take?

That’s up to you, did we mention we’re flexible?! If you can make a regular weekly commitment then great, we have dozens of young people waiting to join our youth sections, but not enough leaders! But if you can only help less frequently, we’ll talk to you about how you can still get something from volunteering with us.
