Explorer Scouts
Open to males and females aged between 14 and 18.
We need more Regular Adult Volunteers to help keep the Oman District Explorer Unit running. Please Volunteer !
If you're 14-18 you can become an Explorer Scout. You have the option of either or both of the following:
Become a regular Explorer Scout and take part in an even wider spectrum of activities. There is also a range of ambitious badges and awards, through which Explorers can demonstrate their proficiencies and expand their interests. Explorers also have the opportunity of working towards the International Award or the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (Bronze, Silver and Gold). | |
Become a Young Leader (YL), assisting with Scouting in the Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop sharing some of the skills you've learnt during your training sessions. It's great fun, looks good on your CV and full training is provided. Becoming a YL also counts towards the community aspect of the International Award or the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. To become a Young Leader you must be at least 14. If you are not an Explorer you can only be a Young Leader for the duration required by the International Award or the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and must cease at the end of that time. All YL's need to complete the Young Leader Training within 3 months of registration which is via a formal contract and are not permitted to continue beyond that period. |
